On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Clouding up

So far January has been worse than December, something I didn't think possible.

But there has been good news.  Wednesday's CT scan showed marked reduction in the size of the tumors and there were no progressions.  Taxotere is definitely working for me a second time and I'm grateful for that.  Now, if I can just get through the last three cycles with an immune system that isn't cooperating these days.

The other good news is that rain is finally in the forecast.  We're getting desperate here in northern California - no rain here, no snow in the Sierra mountain range and therefore no skiing which is creating more economic havoc for the resorts.  But the weekend is supposed to bring us real rain, not just sprinkles.

I love rain!

  1. I am glad the tumors are shrinking. That is some really good news. I told my sister yesterday, how you were doing and mentioned your immune system so she will be having her prayer group praying for you. Might as well use every tool available!

I am hoping rain comes soon too! I don't care much for the cold temps that seem to come with it but rain is sorely needed.
