On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Home again, home again

We had a wonderful, but short, visit to Honolulu to visit Oldest Son and Daughter-in-Law.  I was feeling lousy half of the time, but Steve was pushing me in a wheel-chair and I laid around a lot.  By the end of the trip I was greatly revised and handled the flight home nicely.

The plane was three hours late so we didn't actually get home and collect our dogs until 2:30 a.m.  Youngest Daughter went on to her care group with her friend and the van brought her home as on a regular day so we didn't actually meet up with her until the following day.

We're pretty tired, but pulling it together gradually.  The pain level is much improved (medical marijuana helps and I'm not as disoriented). I see the oncologist on Monday and return to chemotherapy on Tuesday and then life will be much closer to normal. There was so problem traveling with medications.  Everything in my purse was less than 3 ounces and we had to check one piece to make it work.  It worked.

The one lagging question:  Can I return to Juvenile Hall and lead a group effectively?  Haven't decided...
