On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Where is my normal?

Today was a seven-hour medical day, but I got to meet with another doctor who had an additional way to look at pain relief.  And it works!  But I was still sick on the way home and spent the remainder of the day asleep.

I keep hoping that at least some little parts of my life will fall back into place.  Sitting at the kitchen table and painting would be a start. Wrapping presents. Mailing Christmas cards.  There's a lot I could be doing if I could just feel a tiny bit better.
