On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Only 20 days?

I'll know I'm getting better when I actually get up and dressed - voluntarily, not because I have to get to a doctor's appointment.  I can say that today was better than yesterday and much more productive as well.  I read on my Kindle, wrote my weekly letter to my kids and surfed the 'Net learning all sorts of things of which I had no clue.

It's time to think about my New Year's resolutions.

It's time to wrap the presents I have and complete the search for the others.  As much as I want to buy locally and buy Made in America, I have a feeling too much of this year's gifts are going to be from point and click.  But I will make a special effort to get out and choose something that would help create American jobs.

In the meantime, Steve has been cleaning and decorating for three days. The tree is up - live this year - and his winter village runs across the top of the piano.  The wreath is on the door.  This guy gets into it!

  1. Glad to hear you are feeling a little better. Do what is easy - don't worry about saving the world when you are ill, you just need to do what does not exhaust you so you can rest, heal and get better.

  2. Hi Patty - It's a very slow recovery, that's all I can say.
