On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Fast forward

I made it to Juvenile Hall this afternoon after three consecutive absences.  Both sessions went well.  While I was with the boys in the recreational art program I sketched out the header for my Etsy shop.  It will take me all month to refine it, but I have a name and basic idea.  I also have orders all over the place for materials to start producing fun things to sell - fun for me to make, that is.  I'm determined to make January 1st Opening Day and I'm equally determined to add products steadily so that never a week goes by without more, more, more.  It's been a long time since I was this excited about a new project, so is obviously the antidote I needed to restart my life again.  The happier I am, the greater the chance of another long remission, that's my (unscientific) belief.

  2. I think your unscientific theory is 100% correct! I believe we all do so much better when we are truly happy inside and have the Joy of the Lord! AFter you posted about opening an Etsy account I laid awake in bed and was designing Christmas cards and other art cards in my mind....maybe I'll do an etsy shop too! Just not right now, but someday.
