On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We're waiting for the relatives - but since son and daughter-in-law are flying in from Honolulu we're cutting them some slack.  They'll be here when they smell the turkey on the freeway on the way from SFO.

In the meantime, Steve and Youngest Daughter watched the Macy's parade early this morning while I'm watching it now.  I also watched the dog show - but not one of those dogs is as gorgeous as my Brix, Demi or Parisse.  (Might be better behaved, however, as Brix grabbed the bag of giblets.)

I was truly ill all last night, but seem to have kicked it for now - as long as I take every pill on time.  I'm still recovering from the radiation treatment.  They promised a six-week recovery and apparently I'm not going to be spared even a single day.

I have to get started painting, etc., if I'm going to have any kind of a life through all this.  Plus turkey.
