On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Woman's best friends

Steve has been in Fort Bragg this weekend, but Youngest Daughter and I have been mostly keeping it together.  I've been walking all week so it was no problem getting some exercise for the dogs.

Dogs are great that way, dogs are almost always ready for a walk.  And it's great for us humans.  How many overweight dog-walkers have you seen recently?  I used to think that every depressed person should have a dog.  Dogs make you get up in the morning and get outdoors.  Research shows that folks out walking dogs have more social interactions than those who don't have such a ready made conversational ice breaker.

Just one more way to feel grateful.  Thank you, Brix.  Thank you, Demi.  Thank you, Parisse.
