On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Summer cool-down

Misty
Here's Misty, the blue heeler (mix?) that I mentioned earlier.  She is an old lady dog, 14 years, I believe, with a wizened face to prove it.  She's also a wonderful companion, reliably with me wherever I go.  Steve calls her "Shadow" because that's how close she sticks to him when she's not sticking to me.  She absolutely has to stick to someone to keep us all herded in place.

Our weather has shifted with each of the next five days becoming successively cooler.  I tamped down some of the black bark on the front yard so it's settling nicely.  I definitely will set in the plants this week, but already there has been a major improvement from the ragged mess we had before.

I'll be at Juvenile Hall all afternoon and early evening.  Tomorrow Youngest Grandson returns.  The weeks are flying by.
