On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

For the love of a dog

As if three dogs aren't enough, we now have four!  Buley is visiting for two weeks.  She's a favorite houseguest and has stayed with us several times.  She was a breeder for Canine Companions for Independence and has many offspring from her five litters who are now certified service dogs.  It's easy to understand why CCI wanted more like her - she's smart, calm and well-mannered.  There's always room here for Buley!

  1. No, three dogs are not enough! I remember you posting her name before. Glad you get to spend more time with her.

  2. She is a snuggly, warm dog. I want her! There are two - this Buley who is the retired breeder and the other Bulie who we raised but died of Lyme disease about a year ago (in her adoptive family).
