On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Nerd #3 - International Fake Journal Month

Dory Kanter,  Art Escapes
Pick out one beautiful piece of fruit
or a vegetable to use as a subject for a
windowpane painting.
Nerd got it together again today, but isn't satisfied with the results.  (sigh)

Nana's Art Camp is officially closed until the next visit.  I'm sure Youngest Grandson will be here during the summer.  He's hoping to stay all three months, but his mom had so much difficulty letting him go for five days I don't think that's going to happen.  Every time he called her she asked, "Are you homesick?" He finally told her that not only was he not homesick, he wished he could stay another week.  I think she should be proud that she raised a secure child.

For us old folks, the house is suddenly quiet and empty.  Oh yes, there are still the four dogs and Youngest Daughter, but it's very empty feeling...
