On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Nerd #2 - International Fake Journal Month

Robert Bissett, Real Art, Real Easy
Scribble art:  Make a random scribble, rotate the page
several times and look for an object or objects.  Outline
the objects.

Poor Nerd hasn't been out to play for several days.  He hasn't studied or learned anything either.  Today, Nerd and Youngest Grandson tried "scribble art" and looked for objects in the scribbled lines.

The Loch Ness Monster turned up in mine, probably evidence of my state of mind these days when everything is feeling a tad scary and unknown.

Youngest Grandson found a dinosaur in his - which was later shrunk into another postcard for Mom.

Now I'm only ten days behind in International Fake Journal Month....

After lunch we visited a mini exhibit of 50 8x10 pieces of art made by art students at Sonoma Valley High School.  Youngest Grandson seemed impressed and happy to study projects by his (almost) peers.

  1. ...this is really cool. I wish I had done something like that with my son when he was little. He would have loved it.

  2. Good job for both of you. I always find it hard to see things in scribble art.
