Germ-phobic
Yesterday was another lovely one in northern California and tourists were out in full-force. Steve and I walked around the Plaza with all the other amblers and dog walkers - including the woman nudging a yapping chihuahua into a store saying, "Now use your words nicely." (She was probably from San Francisco where folks are truly goofy about their small-breed canines.) There were no empty parking places and the businesses were full of shoppers. It is so nice to live in a vibrant community.
On second thought about that woman - last week I was in Trader Joe's and in an aisle where an employee was stocking a shelf. "Okay, Cart, have it your way," I heard her say.
I looked at her, she looked at me. "Uh, were you talking to your grocery cart?" I asked.
"Yes, I was!" and we both had a chuckle. People fascinate me no end.
By evening I had a fever which sort of freaked me out given my current lack of an immune system. I've been avoiding crowds and anything germy - have let Steve do all the chicken care, for example - but still the thermometer was reading close to 102º. I was told to go straight to the emergency department if I had a fever above 100.5º that I couldn't bring down below that threshold with Tylenol. But I did! I took two tablets and was below 100 an hour later.
Don't you just love it when you can avert a crisis?

Hurray for Tylenol!
