On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Hope

I got disappointing news from my oncologist today when two of the drugs he was planning to prescribe turned out to be ineffective after testing.  There are chemotherapy options available for me, several of them, but now there are two less and that's a bummer.

I'm going back to Taxotere, the drug that put me in remission nine years ago.  Wouldn't it be great if it would be as effective this time?

My fingers are crossed.

  1. It is a bummer, but Taxotere did the trick before, so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed, too.
