On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Bark in the Park

Spring Lake Lagoon, in Santa Rosa, California, was the site of the first ever Bark in the Park.  The water was off limits for humans today and dogs were given off-leash permission to romp and swim.  We took three dogs.  Parisse, who is afraid of everything, never even got her toes wet, but Demi and Brix swam and swam and swam!  They splashed, fetched tennis balls and played with their new best friends.  This was a wonderful event, hopefully the first annual of its kind.

  1. I wish they'd have one of these events every weekend here. It looks like a lot of fun and (best of all) a great way to tire out the canines.

  2. Hi Susan -- It was a great idea. It was the first time - maybe to be held annually - because the lagoon is closed, drained and cleaned after Labor Day. Why not give the dogs one day before draining? My crew loved it! - Barbara
