On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Poor Rafaela!

Rafaela is molting.  She is without doubt, the ugliest chicken on earth.  If you click on the photo you'll see, in grand detail, how grotesque she is.  The good news is that the spiny pin feathers around her neck are the beginning of the gorgeous new feathers that will keep her warm during the winter.

Until then, we live with, well, I already said it, the ugliest chicken on earth.

  1. We're planning to get four chickens soon! I can't wait. They look so fun to draw, but I bet they move to fast! They look like little dinosaurs!
