On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Waiting for rain

The local high school graduation is happening this evening, outdoors as usual, with occasional sprinkles but not the storm that was predicted (so far).  So many events have been cancelled for this weekend including the annual Ox Roast which has never been cancelled in 44 years. The biggest storm will be tomorrow, but half an inch is due during the night.

My weekend began today so I've been enjoying a calm and relaxing day.  Steve and I went out for lunch and I have maintained my 21-day walking streak.  I only walk one mile, just 20 minutes, but the deal I have with myself is that I will keep the streak going for 1,000 days.  After 2-1/2 years I'll evaluate what will surely be a habit by then.  Summer and fall are easy.  Walking during tomorrow's rainstorm will be a challenge. The time change in November will make me want to hibernate per usual.  But let's not get ahead of ourselves: Today I walked!

  1. Wonderful Zentangle! I like the combo of 1/2 flower and half just-a-design.

Do you take the dogs on this mile walk?
