Soul collage #2

I know a positive addiction when I see one and Soul Collage, created by Seena Frost does it for me.  I posted "Lost" last week and today I'm showing you "The Steward -  I Am the One Who measures Planet Earth in inches and accepts responsibility to care for my small part."

This was fun and contemplative, perfect for a quiet Sunday afternoon.  I flipped through two magazines and ripped images that seemed appealing and stacked them with others from previous culling sessions.  It's a great way to get rid of the too many magazines I tend to hoard for way too long.  And then I looked through what I had and an idea began to come through.

My sense of stewardship is growing, but the actual time I put into stewardship isn't large enough.  I'm not pleased with the appearance of our front yard, for example, although the mini plot surrounding the mailbox is looking better every hour.  Dwarf sunflowers have begun popping through the soil to join the blooming daisies, a small white rose bush, California poppies and some ground plants like portulaca and alyssum.

The task at hand is to improve the rest of the yard, one square inch at a time, and to continue to plant the veggies in the 4x4 squares in the back.  The unusual June rains gave me a late start - it was too cold to set out tomato plants until late May - and any seeds would have washed away.
