On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

At last, summertime!

Our wayward seasons seem finally to have straightened themselves out. Today, July 1st, looks and feels like summer with high temperatures and higher yet expected during the coming week.  It will be over 100º part of the time.

Bring back the rain, the fog, the chill in the air!  I envy friends who are on their first cruise to Alaska today where they will be navigating the Inside Passage while we swelter.  Okay, I've seen that twice, but I'm talking about the weather right now and how much I dislike the heat.

The one good thing about higher temperatures is that blackberries and tomatoes will be much happier and, if they're happy, so am I!
