On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Summer, it is arriving!

Wednesday is always my busiest day so now I'm headed right into a three-day weekend. We're almost setting weather records here for heat (79ºF yesterday, record is 80ºF) so windows are open all over the house. Tomorrow a carpenter is coming to hang a new screen door (not very common in northern California) so we can enjoy a nice through-breeze for the next six months.  Can't wait!

  1. Yes, summer is arriving. My husband called to tell me he killed the first rattle snake of the season. It's the earliest sighting we've had (I happen to be in Calif. so my little dog could go to the vet my husband trusts for a stomach blockage - she'll be fine) and he had to scare Sarah, the dog who's already been bit by a snake, away from it. He said she was about 4 feet away. I really hate this season; it's so scary for us. My husband can't hear the snake's rattling either. So yes, summer is about here. Yuck.
