On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Under cloudy skies

I worked a few hours today, but mostly I was home and continuing my spring cleaning projects. I envy people who live lives free of clutter and can find everything quickly. I'm not there yet, it's a constant challenge, but I also haven't given up.

We're fortunate in that we have curbside pickups from two charities on regular routes - no calling necessary - and I make sure I fill giant bags of gently used clothing and artifacts each and every time their trucks are scheduled to swing by. I'm also learning that some books can be donated to the public library sales while others can be simply tossed and recycled. What, throw away a book? It's taken me years to be able to do that one!

  1. I've thrown away a few tattered paperbacks but otherwise gave most of my books to the library. Some they said, would go on the shelves as they were new books and others would be sold. Not only did I find it hard to throw some away but it's hard to give away 40 years worth of book build-up! Keep up the good work on decluttering and your zentangles.

  2. The decluttering seems endless, but making 200 zentangles by September seems possible.
