On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Lovely, lovely rain!

San Francisco
Facing Baker's Beach
There were moments of sunshine today, but also long periods of rain. More is anticipated all week.

I walked the dogs in the rain, I shampooed the living room carpet on this rainy day, I read and read, I attempted the New York Times crossword puzzle (unsuccessfully), I luxuriated in a having one unscheduled day this week.

I relished the rain that gave me permission to hibernate, stay put, not make any big plans that the rain wouldn't tolerate anyway.

It was a wonderful day!

  1. Me too! Well, I didn't shampoo the carpet but I did enjoy a rainy day with some tiny hail thrown in!
