On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Still workin' on it

Two housefinches
(unfinished)
I was lightly scheduled today so worked on my current watercolor project. I haven't finished, but class is tomorrow and I wanted to show progress. I enjoy house finches because we see so very many each and every day, usually feeding at the window boxes.

We're in between storms with two more on the way in. Today was warmish and sunny with a significant breeze.

I worked on a kitchen cabinet painting task, but only completed one. Yesterday afternoon I shampooed the living room carpet. We're definitely into spring cleaning around here and worked together to get quite a bit accomplished. To be continued...

  2. Although this is not done yet, I find the birds very well drawn, and they look so soft and light, and happy ^^
I can't wait to see the end result

  3. Your painting is coming along well! It looks so springlike - I love that you are doing spring cleaning. We still have lots of snow to melt before it will be spring.

  6. Thank you for your comments. I want to add some shadows, round out the shapes a bit, fix some trouble spots and, I don't know... I'll work on it!

  7. Made me think of a Chinese painting too. It's refreshing. I'd be too nervous to finish it :) Watercolor can be so tricky - looks great though. Good luck with the cleaning. I hate to clean but love it when it's all done.
