On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Here comes the next one...

Right this minute the rain is pouring down as a major storm is just starting to roll through. There was some hail yesterday, off and on showers, but the real event is still in the making - with high winds, so they say.

I've been in Santa Rosa all day, watching my adult daughter play in a Special Olympics basketball tournament and shopping before and afterwards. Her birthday is next week....

Tomorrow I'm hunkering down, planning to enjoy the downpour, not going anywhere and am declaring it a mental health day - for me.

  1. Years ago my dad said everyone needed a mental health day occasionally. We thought it was strange for him to say that (this was back in 1960 or around then) but liked it just the same. My oldest sister occasionally got to take a day off school because it stressed her out so. Sometimes now I just have a "don't even bother getting dressed" day and stay in my bathrobe all day. Enjoy your day listening to the rain. We've just been overcast with no rain at all.
