On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Storm's a-comin'

The wind is howling and the rain is pelting down, but the real storm will arrive during the night. And there will off and on rain for the next two weeks. This is so much my kind of weather!

I've been pretending it's early spring and time for spring cleaning (not that I do that annually, but, as I said, I'm pretending). I repainted one under-the-sink cabinet and completely cleared out a linen closet and am glad to have those tasks done. There's lots of do around here so I should probably quit pretending and get serious about spiffing up.

The sheep are doing their part. I was out on Rte. 12 this morning and saw a herd of Munchy Mowers - hired sheep that chomp their way through fields and vineyards. It's amazing what they can accomplish in one day, they completely clear out acres and acres so that the work of the new season can begin. I am incredibly envious. In my next life I want to be paid for eating!
