On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Not snowing yet

Okay, so we got the cherry blossoms but not the snow. I wanted both!

That was the only disappointment. On Rte. 12 this afternoon I saw 1) a flock of Munchy Mowers (sheep rented to graze in the vineyards and fields to chomp down the high growth), 2) a herd of six deer near the highway, also grazing and chowing down, 3) a red-shouldered hawk sitting on a telephone wire. I live in a fairly urban area - not a city, but one town close to other towns - and it thrills me so much to be right in the midst of the natural world.

  1. I love seeing wild things around where I live too, although here it's just mostly moose and eagles.

  2. Aw, too bad about the snow. We've got gray clouds but no rain so far.
