On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Duped!

It's official, there will be no snow. After all the hype the entire San Francisco Bay Area is bright and sunny, very cold for us (27º F at dawn), but the snow failed to happen. This was preceded by several days of how communities were preparing for all the accidents, school closures and whatever else would occur if snow fell.

Even the kids at Juvenile Hall were excited and they would have the least exposure, but it was a region-wide event that never was. Bummer! And now it's almost March so the likelihood of snow - the last time in San Francisco was 40 years ago - is negligible.

But the sun is out bright and strong, a good thing, right?

  1. The caged bird is escaping! I'm sure the kids at Juvenile Hall would love to be out and enjoy that bright sunshine too - maybe you can bring some indoors to them!

I just met a friend at the SJ ballet matinee and she had pictures on her iphone of it snowing in Half Moon Bay this morning. We did not have a single flake in Los Gatos/San Jose. I was disappointed too. Anne
