On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

One more page

This evening I started working with a new group of boys at Juvenile Hall. This is the recreational art program that's been in place for the past six months and that I've written about often.

I requested a transfer to a unit with less turnover so that I can get to know the kids better. The boys think they are there for art; I think I'm there to be influential.

The weather has moderated somewhat with some weak sunshine, no rain and temperatures approaching the 50s. It feels like spring is right around the very next corner!
