On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Early, early springtime

Brix, the one who runs to the door when I sing out,
"Who wants to go for a walk?"
The unusual early springtime weather is continuing and we're all getting outside more as a result. I'm ready for the rains to return however, because January is supposed to be our main rainy season and everything feels a little off, as though we're in the wrong season.

I got several errands done today and lines are running all across my to-do list. One naggy project, a subject of my procrastination for most of a year, suddenly found itself done! Weather will do that, you know, it offers those unexpected bursts of energy when everything suddenly seems so much easier, so much more doable.
