On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

Trinity Church, Sonoma, California
We attended a late Christmas Eve service last night and, for once, I was just too tired to draw!

Our Christmas Day has been wonderful. Our daughter and family hosted a noon brunch followed by our gift exchange. We're all happy campers this chilly, rainy day and looking forward to the storms and vacation days to come.

If you're looking for me, I'll be cozy on the sofa reading with my new Kindle, a gift from Steve. My hope is that 2011 will be the year of books and reading (when I'm not working, drawing, tending chickens, cat and dogs, gardening, walking and whatever else it is that I do).

Rain and more rain is expected and maybe even snow. (No, we couldn't be that lucky. I've only seen snow here once in 15 years....)

  1. Merry Christmas my friend. Enjoy your Kindle... I have a NOOK reader and love it. 2011 the year of books... a good goal for the new year.
