On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Earth Day - The hand that feeds me

Eating less is another way to honor and care for the earth. I don't need to eat as much as I usually do, but I enjoyed every one of the 1470 calories I consumed today.

I also walked almost three miles today. I am totally set on my goal of being a normal weight by December 31st. It seems like a long way off now, but that's what caught me up short in the past, thinking I didn't have to be vigilant for a long time.

We're enjoying spectacular weather now. After two more days of rain the sun came out and each day until next Monday is to be a little bit warmer. This is so unusual that we're having a real spring, a four season year.

  3. What a great idea. If I had to sit down and draw everything I ate every day, You could be sure I'd loose weight! Hmmm, I may just try that sometime!
