On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Home, sweet home

The local group of California State Docents spent the weekend in Old Sacramento. I invited Youngest Daughter to go with me, one of the perks of accepting my invitation being an overnight on the riverboat, The Delta King.

We had a great time. For me the highlight was the hotel, but I also really enjoyed revisiting the California Railway Museum, the Sacramento History Museum and a 45-minute ride on an old steam engine paralleling the Sacramento River.

We walked a lot, stopped in every shop to pick up and put down, and came home pretty near exhausted, but in a good way.

I'm still drawing my way to thinness. Today is the fourth day, but I'm only posting yesterday's page for now. Tomorrow is Catch Up On Everything Day.
