On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Multitasking

I watched and watched and watched the congressional meeting with President Obama on the proposed healthcare bill. That gave me more than enough time to draw this flamingo. Actually, I watercolored it first, didn't care for the result, and Prismacolored over it.

We're just a couple hours away from the next storm, supposedly a big one. It is about an hour away, so I'm told, and will be intense tomorrow.

All that water, that should make my flamingo very happy.

  2. The effects of the colored pencil over the watercolor are phenomenal! I think you should try it with the background also! Very nice flamingo!
