On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Not laboring today

Today was a national holiday in the United States. It's Labor Day, a day to honor our workers and to avoid all work ourselves, if possible.

It was definitely possible for me! Steve and I went to the movies and saw JULIE AND JULIA which I recommend. I didn't know before I saw it that the film is as much about blogging as it is about Julia Child and cooking.

I drew my five pages of art homework, due tomorrow. The assignment was to make gestural drawings with value. Poor Youngest Daughter! I beg her to pose for me for the two required figure drawings and then release her to draw what I really want - celery!
