On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Onions and carrots and beets, oh my!

I did it, I did it! Never in my life have I planted carrots or onions or beets and this year I did it all by myself and from seeds, no less! Sometimes I'm a total inspiration to myself, I tell you.

What I learned is that, next spring, I will do this again, and plant MORE. There are some good things you just can't have enough of.

  1. I'm jealous Barbara! I would love to have a crop like that! Next year!

  2. Way to go, Barbara! Those beets look beautiful. Enjoy every bite.

  3. Hey Barbara...I love those carrots and beetroots....wow...they look yummy....and appreciate your patience and hardwork behind making them grow beautifully....
