On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

The penultimate page

I only have one more page to complete my current sketchbook. I've never actually finished one before -- lots of sketchbooks, lots of starts -- so I'm pleased to have finally almost finished one. Just one more page, hopefully tomorrow.

I'm already looking forward to beginning the next book. I chose a slightly smaller size, 9 inch square, and have committed to being neater with my writing and more diligent in the actual work. Maybe I'll begin tomorrow, after I finish the final sketch, maybe I'll wait until Tuesday. Either way, it's imminent!

  1. Nice drawing!! I've always liked lemons... I think they are great when sliced and cooked in hot water, and then just add honey, and then you'd get an awesome healthy yummy Honey-Lemon tea! ^^

  2. I'm happy to see your lemon sketch in the bigger size---it shows more the keen observations you have for the lemon and it's leaves--great job! I may try Alex's tea---sounds tasty...

  3. Lovely colours on the lemon - the highlighting works so well. Congratulations on completing (almost) your sketchbook. Have you chosen your next sketchbook or are you going back to fill in the pages on your únfinished 'books?
