On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

The day after

I'm looking forward to tomorrow's first art class of the semester.  I signed up for a basic drawing course because not drawing well has become a huge stumbling block for me.  My hope is that I will show considerable improvement by semester's end in June.

We finally got a few drops of rain today with more expected on and off for most of the next five days.  What we need is a powerful series of storms with snow in the mountains.  So far, this is becoming our third year of drought and we're getting increasingly worried about it.

I stumbled across a photograph of a beagle so tried to draw it.  (another long sigh)
