On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Still here

I've been drawing daily and have continued working but I don't have any completed pages to upload...yet. In our mixed media class we've been doing some printing, I think it's called xerographic printing, and it's been a major project for all of us to learn. Fussy and tedious too!

Next week we begin cutting our own linoleum prints and I'm looking forward to that because I can do it with much less equipment and it's more familiar territory. And I'm continuing to finish parts of pages in my 100-page class project that I keep referring to.

In the meantime, I also had a CT scan last week and the results were wonderful! I'm still in remission, such a relief. With that behind me I can stampede forward and get some pages drawn and blogged. That's the plan.

  1. Hooray! Bet you do feel better after that test. Can't wait to see some of your new work.
