On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

The next ode

There are "only" about 600 fires in California now and the sky is so hazy I can barely see the mountain a few miles behind our house. But the temperature continues to drop to something more normal and one can only hope that will help.

Summer is salad season, of course, and what tops off a salad better than my favorite ... fruit, I think... or maybe it's been a veggie all these years and I never knew it.

Our area has wonderful Mexican restaurants, each with it's own style of guacamole. Steve made a batch of it a few days ago and I polished it off as an evening snack. It was delightful!

  8. I do believe you've found your "style," these are all MARVELOUS!! I, too, was super impressed with that DVD -- I've bought books (very good ones, too)on journaling and just couldn't get inspired, that DVD really lit a fire under me! You have taken the info and just started running with it. You should consider going to one of their workshops.
