Ode to tea
Yesterday afternoon I took my watercolor paper and palette to the back yard with a cup of black tea and wondered what I could draw. I didn't have to look far!
There are now over 800 fires in California and at least one is within 15 miles. I've lived in California for over 30 years and I don't recall anything like this, not even in fire season (which this is NOT).
My prayers are with you, Barbara!! This has just been the most disastrous year for severe weather and fire, and I hope that this one stays far away from you!! Your lovely sketch of tea seems an appropriate step to take at this point!
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done! I pray that the fires die down and not come your way
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your drawings, Barbara, and this one is lovely! I hope the fires will be brought under control before you suffer any damage. Stay safe.....
ReplyDeleteOh how I pray the fires die - CA is so lovely and to think of so much blazing away is horrid - something we Never have to worry about in NE- and I am with you on tea, it is so civilized and calming. Hot or cold I love tea - I'll right over.
ReplyDeleteWe must have been thinking along the same lines. I also love tea. I love to blend teas from herbs also.Your drawing is quite soothing!
ReplyDeleteYour sketch is great, I love the layout, it looks a bit like a comic book page (european comic book!). I hope the fires die soon and don't come near you. We have a lot of them too in my area, in summer.
ReplyDeleteLovely cup of tea! Nice painting. And we are surrounded by fires too. The smoke is so thick and is really taking its toll on my family. Can't wait to see blue skies again!
