On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Trinity joy

Choral Evensong is unique to the Anglican tradition. This year it was such a joy to participate in the service at Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin on Trinity Sunday.

I was sketching with ink in a tiny pad of speckled writing paper. When I got back to our hotel room I pasted the bits of paper into my Moleskine sketchbook and added some Pan Pastel color. The drawing was a photograph in the service bulletin.

  3. I think I want a speckled pad. It added that little extra to your pages. You are doing so well sharing all this through your journal. So different than just a photo!
