On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Seeing in person

I have known for over a year that I would be traveling in Ireland this month. Last July, a couple months after I began learning how to draw and paint, I painted the Gallarus Oratory, a 1200 year old place of prayer.

Here it is in real life.

  1. Oh my! I don't ever want to hear you say anything about drawing like a 5th grader. This is simply wonderful.

  2. Whoa, that is really good! Yeah, no fifth grade art here.

  3. This is and amazingly beautiful place...and your painting definitely does it justice...I am thoroughtly enjoying your trip to Ireland...thanks for taking me along! :)

  4. Thank you, Everyone. I'm working on it!! - Barbara
