On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Santa Claus is comin' to town!

There is another dog behind Santa but you have to have sharp eyes to see Parisse.

We packed up all three dogs and hauled them to Western Farm Center in Santa Rosa where Santa was participating in an annual fundraiser for Canine Companions for Independence.

Santa was accomodating but Parisse was terrified -- she was released from the CCI program for "extreme fear" and various medical problems. So she hid behind Santa for the first photo.

Beulie, our current trainee and Parisse's half-sister, is fearless and proudly demonstrated the Lap command over Santa's knees.

Brix, now four years old, is an old hand at this Santa stuff and sat in his usual grand old patriarch fashion, not quite wanting a hug from Santa. The things we do for our dogs!
