On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Dog days

This photo - from FaceBook - reminds me of Brix, but even he isn't quite this lazy. Forgive me, but I couldn't resist peeking from yesterday's offerings.

I've been feeling much better lately, only my left-hand fingers feel scrunched and painful.

Oldest daughter brought over her two boys the last two weekends so there's been a greater sense of extended family. The youngest is begging me to reopen Nana's Art Camp. I reminded him that I can't drive or even run, but if he doesn't mind hanging out under the air conditioning, I can suggest all sorts of crafty projects to keep us both busy until the fall semester cranks up again.

  1. I think Art Camp sounds great and glad you've been doing better. Even if you can't do all of the artsy part, your grandson can and maybe he could thread a needle or two for you if you should try a bit of cross stitching while he's there. Who knows, maybe he'd enjoy it. Sometimes guys make the best designers so it's good to get them to try the different crafts. How about a little paper mache via the blender or making paper with junk mail and the blender? A guy should like that kind of project!

Main thing is to have fun together but I know what you mean about the AC. I've been turning it on every day for the last couple of weeks! Today the electric company is turning off our power from 9a.m. till 2:30p.m. I hope the fridge in the garage will do okay. It gets hotter in there than outside and it's supposed to be 100 degrees today.

Has your appetite come back any?
