On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

The uptic

Life is getting better!  I'm still symptomatic, but things are easing up.  This morning Steve said my eye wasn't as puffy and they are almost the same size now. Today was the 3rd day of medication and I'm hoping that there will be significant change by tomorrow.

The pain I keep wingeing about is not from the eye, but from the radiation treatments.  It comes and goes.  Today I needed two treatments for the pain, yesterday I think it was three, sometimes zero.  It varies but isn't a big problem for me, just annoying at times.

A friend passed me walking last night and said she would add me to her prayer list.  THANK YOU!  Another friend emailed Steve to say she had prayed for me yesterday in Westminster Abbey.  THANK YOU!  However it arrives - prayers, pies and cards - I am grateful every time.  Hopefully I will be through this before too much longer.  I'm ready for a turning point!

  1. Yeah for an uptic! Hope tomorrow really shows your progress definitively so you can relax a bit too. Looks like that up-coming trip might feel more possible!
