On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Fixing it

I hope none of you caught the "Out of Dodge" submission that I posted most recently.  I think luck was with me - I never actually pressed the final button - but before that, Wow! Steve was laughing his fool head off when he brought me the finally copy.  I began again, but I don't think I posted it that last time. There were mistakes on top of mistakes.  It was either computer error(s) or too much medication, but something went terribly wrong.  I make enough mistakes without the extra errors from confused fingers that don't know where they're going. I quickly put it on "draft" and made many corrections, but apparently forgot to post it in final form.  Medication?  It's still from pain, lots of pain.

There was rain today - and hail. The entire deck was completely covered, enough to make a bear slide. And then the sun came out.  And then a pouring rain, ground-covering hail and a bright sun.  Amazing!

I'm still sleeping a lot.  I'm assuming that I need it, not just being lazy.  My hope is that in a week or two I'll be up and moving - painting on the kitchen table, reading, walking and writing and bringing my life back into "usuaL" It's the pain that keeps me knocked out.  I need one more doctor consult to see what I can do about this. I was told that there's no reason for this level of pain.

  1. It's rainy here today, which I don't so much enjoy, but as I was walking in the rain I thought, "Barbara says she likes rainy days," and that made me smile & like the day a little bit more.
