On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Becoming a locavore

Youngest Grandson is arriving for a sleepover in about an hour.  He hasn't been here much since school started and I miss him.

Steve and I went to the Friday Farmers' Market this morning.  I greeted Señor Calderone, a local farmer and vendor who was featured in the Santa Rosa Press Democrat this week.  His farm is in the heart of Sonoma and has the earliest and the latest and the very best tomatoes and other veggies.  I always chat with him, but this felt special to actually know his name!
