On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Luckier than I know

Today was close to normal.  Yes, I had the 4th radiation treatment.  But I also worked a few hours and managed to accomplish other tasks.  I didn't take a nap although I do admit to feeling a bit sleepy late in the afternoon, something that a cuppa would have fixed had it been available.  (I was the eyes-closed passenger as Steve was driving across farmland to get me to my appointment.) Most of the day I was able to stay on top of the pain, but I really need to take the meds the minute I can lest I lag behind and pay the price.

I also have to remember that I'm only getting 15 treatments.  There was a woman in the waiting room this afternoon who was completing her final session - number 32.  Ouch!
