On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Mending

I'm still practicing tangles for Monday's demonstration in Juvenile Hall.  I'll show a video, which will make the teaching component much easier, but I like to hold something up so the kids understand that my work can be as beginnerish as theirs will be.

Apparently I actually did pass a kidney stone and am now recovering.  Today was better than yesterday although Steve and I spent all morning deciding whether a trip to the ER was called for.  In the end, we didn't go.  I slept the day away, but there were only two episodes of major pain and they were each only about 20 minutes long.  When I was awake I felt well although I did very little and kept to my bed.  Tomorrow I plan to reduce the pain medication and move around a bit.  Should be doable.
