On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Lying abed

I'm doing well, actually got up and dressed this morning.  We have a pre-measured loop in the neighborhood that is 1/3 mile. Steve and I walked the dogs around it earlier so I got that much exercise and the day is still young.  I'm full of meds making it a balancing act between gradually becoming more active and not actually overdoing it.

Hospital memories are floating up close and then receding.  It's all quite surreal at this point.  My main objective is to get to Juvenile Hall on Monday and to the first session of the new semester's art class that same evening.

Oldest Son is flying in from Honolulu this weekend so there's lots to look forward to.
