On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Enough, already!

The last thing I needed today was to trek over to the Napa DMV - it's the closest - to renew my driver's license.  I have some vague recollection of a form coming in the mail last May, about an hour before we left for Honolulu and I was completing a chemotherapy cycle.  I never gave it another thought until yesterday, when I had to hand over my license at a pharmacy, and happened to notice that it expires on Tuesday.  Tuesday!  Oh, my God!  How did this happen? Needless to say, I was clueless as to where the original form might be.

Steve drove me to and fro and stood in all the lines for me.  I felt so ill.  By the time we got home I was in tears again from the pain, but after sleeping away the afternoon I seem to be back in some sort of pain control.  I haven't eaten for three days, but I found some left over anti-nausea meds and that got me through at least part of today.  I will be so glad when this little mini crisis, whatever it is, is totally resolved.  I do not like this!
